There’s a Book For That!

This summer a dear friend asked me what seemed like a simple question- “What do you love to do?” Sadly I had such a difficult time answering this question. It actually took me months to come up with the answer.

I was at work, walking into the library, talking to a mother about how to help her 2 year old son with autism about understanding emotions and eye contact through picture books. All of a sudden it came to me, There’s a Book for That!

The idea snowballed from there. I love to read, I love to talk about books, and I love to find the right book for people. I thought how often in my job, supporting people with developmental disabilities as a Gentle Teaching Specialist I recommend children’s books to families. Often people are referred to me when there is a behavioral problem and quite often within my consultation I have found the need to research and recommend books to help in any given situation.

So readers, this blog will be a collection of book reviews for specific situations, things that either I have come across in my own life as a mother or as a behavioral consultant. I will publish a book recommendation on a weekly basis. Check out the previous posts on the left side and enjoy. If there is something you’re looking for please don’t hesitate to post the question and I would love to find the perfect book for you and your family!

Much love and happy reading!
